Biography
Making his name in the documentary world with Brother's Keep
(1992) and and Patadise Lost, he has taken apart the American
criminal justice system to its bare roots.
Born in october 1961, his first choice of career was as a
marketing director, however he sound found himself working
at Maysles Films, making his producding debut with Outrageous
Taxi Stories (1989). This was followed by Berlinger and Sinofsky
going into partnership with Creative Thinking International.
The organisation later changed its name to Gray Matter Productions
which produced Brother's Keep. Berlinger spent nearly a year
with the two brothers of Munnsville, NY putting together the
film focusing around the tragic tale of them being accused
of murder. The next film to be released was the similar themed
documentary Paradise Lost in 1996.
The company continued to do more television work over the
next few years before returning with Paradise Lost 2: Revalations
in 2000 and approaching Artisan Entertainment after this for
a low budget fictional thriller but ending up attached to
direct indie-horror seqel Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2.
